Occurrence of volcanic eruptions in Indonesia resulted in a significant impact on atmospheric conditions, especially the spread of volcanic ash. The presence of volcanic ash distribution is very dangerous in the world of aviation. If detected no spread of volcanic ash on flight routes, could lead to the transfer of flights and the closure of the airport. This study aims to identify the trajectory of the volcanic ash eruption of Mount Gamalama on August 3, 2016. In the identification of volcanic ash Hysplit using numerical models and satellite imagery method Himawari RGB channel 8 with IR2, IR4 and VIS. Hysplit model output on a modeling system to calculate the trajectory of a simple air parcel with pedekatan Lagrangian and Eulerian methods. The model results Hysplit yield spread of volcanic ash trajectory Gamalama mountain towards the southeast to south on a level surface and toward the northwest at the level of the maximum altitude of 60000 feet with the particle concentration reaches about> 1000 mg /m2. Results Himawari 8 satellite image identification method using the RGB composite channel 3 variations image shows the distribution of volcanic ash leads towards the northwest with an area of particles that nearly cover most regions of Ternate. Comparison of the models and methods RGB Hysplit on satellite images Himawari 8 produces an output that is almost the same. This is because the results of the methods RGB satellite image at 15:00 UTC in the region of clouds and disorders growth occurs around so clouded and difficult to detect the spread of volcanic ash.
